Senior RTBU delegates attended a presentation of this document and following a joint union meeting it was agreed that both unions would not attend any further meetings with management on the subject until all Station Managers have had the opportunity to see the presentation.
RailCorp have advised that the presentation will be provided to all Station Managers at their regular team briefing.
Station Managers who are members of the RTBU are requested to provide feedback to your union at nswho@rtbu-nsw.asn.au clearly articulating their position on the matter.
Whilst the RTBU are not apposed to general measurable indicators that assist in the management of railway stations, we are principally opposed to RailCorp senior managers outsourcing their responsibility on matters that are beyond the control of the Station Manager.
Further, it is noted that Station Managers have had the ability to manage their stations taken away through a series of kingdom building exercises which are a result of poor government knee jerk decisions over the past few years.
It is extremely important that members provide feedback on this issue.
